Lakeside Park, Wattle Grove - Community Consultation

The COVID-19 Pandemic has exposed the importance of public spaces in providing for the health and well-being of everyone. Public spaces are planned and designed to be inclusive and serve the recreational needs of the entire community. A public space should be physically and socially accessible to all. As a public space, Lakeside Park is a recreational park that offers a children’s playground, footpaths, and outdoor exercise equipment. Council understands that these public amenities serve the residents of Wattle Grove, while also attracting users from wider Liverpool such as community groups and residents of surrounding suburbs.

Following the Eastern District Forum, Liverpool City Council has learnt that visitors to the park require an improvement to the existing amenities. In order to satisfy the needs of the entire community, Council has extended the community survey for Lakeside Park in Wattle Grove to engage all users of the park from the wider community. As such, Council’s objective is to improve the health and wellbeing of all its residents through the provision of high-quality public spaces.
