Councils Community Facilities runs an Expression of Interest for Licence Sites, Permanent Hire of Community Venues, and Religious/Sunday Groups and Community Buses ever three years, two years, and one year respectively. The most recent EOI was for the 2021-2022 Permanent Hire period. This was advertised from 10 to 28 August 2020 in the local paper and in social media primarily over Council’s Facebook page and given a social push in an effort to reach a wider audience. Upcoming Expressions of Interest will be for the Licence Sites, which will begin promotion in July 2021.
The courts are available for casual use outside the times that tennis coaching sessions are programmed. Council conducted a competitive process for qualified tennis providers to provide tennis coaching and manage casual use of the McGirr Park Courts. Tennis First have been appointed to operate the centre, for information on court hire and tennis lessons contact Tennis First on email admin@tennisfirst.com.au or phone 9541 2988.
Police advice is if residents see any persons at the location and are concerned by their behaviour that they call Liverpool Police and a crew will respond. Alternatively, if the crime is urgent or life threatening, they can contact ‘000’. Council’s Community Development and Planning team are meeting with police soon to discuss matters brought to our attention from the community and how we can better respond to issues as their capacity is returning to normal in the coming weeks. Updates will be provided, and they will be invited to attend future forums.

The illegal waste team have conducted an assessment of the area and have deemed this location as residential and not appropriate for the placement of cameras. Council at this stage does not place surveillance cameras into areas known to be frequented by children, including high profile public places such as parks, reserves, carparks, playground areas as well as residential housing. The Cleansing team will continue monitor the area over the next few weeks and report any illegal waste issues to the illegal Waste Officers for action/education.
