Liverpool City Council is seeking community input into the revised plans for the proposed Liverpool Civic Place development at 52 Scott Street, Liverpool. The revised plans were endorsed by Council at the Ordinary Meeting held on 29 October 2018.

The mixed-use development will anchor and activate the southern end of the Liverpool CBD.

Following initial community engagement in 2017, a number of changes to the plans have been proposed. A summary of changes are outlined below:

Original scheme

  • Council offices and Chambers;
  • A new central Liverpool City Library and community hub;
  • University of Wollongong South Western Sydney campus;
  • Student accommodation;
  • Hotel (125 rooms);
  • Retail space; and
  • Residential.

Revised scheme

  • Council offices and Chambers;
  • A new central Liverpool City Library and community hub (increased floor space);
  • A child care centre;
  • A new Civic Plaza;
  • University of Wollongong South Western Sydney campus;
  • Hotel (126 rooms);
  • Commercial office and retail space; and
  • Public parking.

Subject to approval processes and obtaining development consent, construction is expected to commence in early 2020 and take two to three years to complete.
