Liverpool Civic Place

Consultation has concluded

Liverpool City Council is seeking your input into the proposed Liverpool Civic Place project at 52 Scott Street Liverpool, at the southern end of Liverpool’s CBD. This new and exciting project is a mixed use development including a new Council library and community hub, Council offices and Chambers, University of Wollongong South Western Sydney campus, student accommodation, a new public domain, and commercial and residential uses.

Council will provide a number of consultation opportunities to discuss the project and for you to share your ideas for this project. This community input will inform the final plans for the site.

Project Background

Council is undertaking the Civic Place project. The Liverpool Civic Place, located at 52 Scott Street, Liverpool, aims to anchor and activate the southern end of Liverpool CBD.

Council’s exciting and innovative vision for the Liverpool Civic Place development is to provide:

  • New Council offices and Chambers
  • A new Liverpool City Centre Library
  • South Western Sydney Campus for University of Wollongong
  • Council and public parking
  • A new and exciting Civic Plaza
  • Residential apartments in two towers
  • Student accommodation providing approximately 140 rooms, and
  • A hotel with approximately 140 rooms.

Subject to the approval process and development consent, construction would commence mid 2017 and would take place over a three to four-year period from 2017 to 2021.The Council facilities and University of Wollongong campus to be completed in 2019.

Join us for a cup of tea or coffee, and attend our Drop-in Event at the Liverpool Soldier’s Memorial School of the Arts. You can view proposed Liverpool Civic Place designs, talk to the design team and Council staff about the project, and provide your feedback.
